EverLast® lighting propels wind and solar technology
This May Full Spectrum Solutions, Inc. the manufacturer of EverLast® HD Induction Lighting will attend the largest annual wind conference and exhibition in the world - Windpower 2009, where the highly anticipated EverLast® Photo Voltaic and Wind (PVW) Hybrid Induction Street Light will be revealed at Booth #5672.
Powered by a wind turbine, two solar panels, and dynamic control system, the EverLast® PVW Hybrid is made possible by the use of energy-efficient EverLast® Cobra Head induction lamps that effectively illuminates business parks, parking structures, recreational parks and any place ample lighting is needed. EverLast® Induction Fixtures will reduce lighting costs up to 60% and operate 800 degress cooler than other technologies.
The power required to operate the EverLast® PVW Hybrid is 100% generated by the sun and wind. With a life expectancy of 22+ years (100,000 hours), cities and businesses installing the lighting structure will see virtually no maintenance or lighting cost associated with the EverLast® PVW Hybrid.
Engineered to be highly efficient, the EverLast® PVW is sensor controlled and will only turn on at night to properly illuminate any outdoor setting. Rigorously tested under all conditions, this unique lighting system is easy to install and eliminates excavation costs to run power lines, allowing businesses to become more competitive and municipalities to reduce spending by decreasing energy and maintenance costs associated with their lighting systems.
For the city of Ann Arbor, Michigan, installing the EverLast® PVW at the entrance of a community park was another small step in their “Go Solar Ann Arbor” Campaign, which aims to have municipal operations running on 30 percent renewable energy by 2010.
“The light uses induction technology, which means the power needed to generate it is transferred from the outside of the lamp via electromagnetic fields. Its life expectancy is great. Other than the cost of putting it up there, it's not going to cost us another cent for a long time,' said David Konkle, Ann Arbor’s city Energy Coordinator.
“Lighting is associated with maintenance and utility costs. With EverLast® PVW technology – these costs are eliminated. Sustainability and energy-efficiency are very hot topics in lighting technology today. Windpower 2009 gives companies like us the opportunity to introduce such technology that will help businesses and municipalities become more involved in saving energy and money,” said Mike Nevins, Founder of Full Spectrum Solutions.
