Head- and tailwinds for Windhager

The Austrian pellet boiler manufacturer Windhager exhibited in the Austrian Trade joint pavilion. According to Bernhard Holzer, export manager the markets for Windhager who supply boilers for the residential and light commercial sectors have developed in different directions.
“Here in Sweden the market for us seems very flat at the moment with not much happening,” said Bernhard Holzer adding that the Nordic markets are not so big in numbers but nonetheless important to be a player on and that was a reason to be an exhibitor.
The RHI having an effect?
Of tradition, culture and for language reasons Germany and Switzerland are almost home markets along with of course Austria. However, according to Holzer the United Kingdom is projected by the end of the year to become their third most important market in terms of sale volumes.
“We have a very good representative and setup in the UK which includes certified installer training. The Renewable Heat Initiative (RHI) certainly seems to have had a psychological effect but has yet to actually come into effect for the residential sector. Our boilers of course qualify for the scheme,” said Bernhard.
He also told of another market for Windhager that is likely to take-off very soon but without disclosing any details.
“I can’t say any details yet about this other than we are of course excited,” concluded a secretive Bernhard Holzer.
