IEG: Ecomondo and Key Energy, two top events together in new approaches for the circular economy and renewable energies
Rimini -- On the one hand, a huge boost for packaging, textile-fashion, building and automotive production chains. On the other, focus on renewable energies with considerable attention to wind, solar and energy storage systems. The two Italian Exhibition Group Shows include the Circular Smart City project
Circular economy on the one hand and renewable energy development on the other: the enormous ongoing changes in the galaxy of green economy, with an increasingly more international and business approach, will be celebrated at Ecomondo and Key Energy, the platforms of reference that Italian Exhibition Group is staging at Rimini Expo Centre from 6th to 9th November. The focal point of the 22nd edition of Ecomondo is circular economy, which, until a few years ago, was only a theory but now, thanks to the enactment of standards and financing, has become an ongoing practice in the more developed industrial countries. The 12th edition of Key Energy confirms its role as a catalyst and driving force for business in all the increasingly more strategic sectors of renewable energy and energy efficiency.
Two top events staged together occupying all 129,000 square metres of Rimini Expo Centre´s exhibition area. The exhibition offer will be accompanied by more than 200 events, meetings and seminars, with focus on the most pressing current themes, including Italian and European regulations (from the European Circular Economy Package to the European Strategy for Plastics), cutting edge case histories and good practices, in order to put the new challenges of circular economy and renewable energies onto a double track, with special focus on the National Energy Strategy (SEN), in all its declinations.
All thanks to the support of extremely high profile scientific committees, presided over by Prof. Fabio Fava (Ecomondo) and engineer Gianni Silvestrini (Key Energy), two of the greatest experts in their respective disciplines in Italy and abroad, and close collaboration with leading associations representing the entire national and European industrial universe. These flagship events will outline the trends in the various industrial sectors with strategic events on marine litter, industrial site reclamations and territorial regenerations, in a strategic and applicative view, for an audience of over 20,000 people taken from the insiders that will be attending Ecomondo and Key Energy.
A useful programme for previewing and favouring processes in close dialogue with the main players in the various sectors: from recycling to developing waste, from the bio-economical production chain to renewable energies and energy efficiency, and from urban regeneration to smart cities. With a horizon that has now become indispensable: Ecodesign. Or rather, the re-designing of manufacturing, social and economic systems in an ecological key.
ECOMONDO
Ecomondo, the ultimate platform for the entire waste cycle (a sector that generates an overall turnover of 155 billion Euros in Europe), will focus on Bio-economy, with the very best of industry, the latest in new materials, bio-refineries and bio-methane. An innovative display project will enhance those manufacturing companies and services that have made Ecodesign their new mantra. Fresh approaches for activating the circular economy model in the packaging, textile-fashion, building and automotive industries will be closely looked at.
The recent European strategy for plastics will be the reference point for re-proposing a topic that was a subject for debate at the 2017 edition. The Global Water Expo will feature the most interesting European companies involved in the management and development of water resources. The area dedicated to land and sediment reclamation will be extended to the upgrading of port locations and areas.
Other themes on the agenda: hydro-geological risk prevention and management, indoor and outdoor air treatment and purification, gas emission and effluent monitoring.
At the opening of Ecomondo, an appointment with the States General of the Green Economy, promoted by the National Council of the Green Economy.
KEY ENERGY
Thirteen years after the Kyoto Protocol came into force with the Paris Agreement acting as the compass for directing policies for reducing CO2 emissions and European Parliament indications for achieving carbon flow neutrality by 2050, Key Energy, the show for renewable energies in the Mediterranean area, addresses a highly challenging context.
In order to achieve the objectives foreseen by Italy´s National Energy Strategy within 2030, which imply a renewable energy contribution of 57% for electricity, wind energy production needs to more than double and solar energy needs to triple.
Focus on solar energy and energy storage will be re-proposed at this year´s edition of Key Energy, after its launch in 2017 in the Key Solar and Key Storage sections, with the fundamental contribution of reference associations (Federazione Anie Rinnovabili, Italia Solare). Key Efficiency on the other hand, will once again make room for technologies and systems and solutions for the intelligent use of resources thanks also the support of ENEA. The agreement with ANEV, however, continues to strengthen the Key Wind proposal with the participation of leading operators and producers of technologies for large, medium and small wind power systems, both on and off-shore, and every company along the wind energy production line.
THE SUSTAINABLE CITY: CIRCULAR SMART CITY
Urban innovation, Mobility innovation and Digital innovation will be the key points around which the Sustainable City will be built, a special project aimed at public administrations, technicians and service companies involved in planning and creating Smart Cities, or rather, the cities of the near future with already solid virtuous experiences that will be on display in the halls.
Key topics will include zero emission and sustainable public transport with a complete offer of green technologies specifically for intermodal urban mobility, urban regeneration, services, car sharing, bike sharing and fleet management.
