Imtech: strong further growth in Poland, broad palette of new orders
- First application in Europe for innovative energy solution for cold and heat exchange in buildings
Gouda - Imtech (technical services provider in Europe) announces that it is experiencing strong organic growth in Poland. Economic growth in Poland is leading to a rising demand for technical total solutions. Imtech is able to benefit strongly from this development. There is also a growing need to find solutions for complex energy issues. Here too, Imtech is able to provide an effective response. Important new orders are all technology solutions for the buildings in the first phase of the theme and adventure park 'Adventure World' in Warsaw and the energy-efficient technological modernisation of the railway station of Katowice. Both are part of a broad palette of new orders in Poland, with a combined value of over 75 million euro.
Imtech CEO René van der Bruggen: 'Imtech has enjoyed a strong position in Poland since a couple of years. Initially, Imtech Polska came about as the result of collaboration with German clients who became active in Poland. Later, Imtech's position was expanded considerably in partnership with Polish clients and investors. By now, Imtech's portfolio of technological competences in Poland is virtually complete. With a population of over 40 million, there is an increasing need for technological total solutions, including a strong demand for energy-efficient ones. Imtech is able to respond to this demand on a broad scale. After the opening of a new local office in Cracow, Imtech is furthermore able to offer nation-wide coverage in its provision of services. Further organic growth is on the horizon - in accordance with our 2015 growth strategy.'
Broad palette of new orders
Imtech manages to approach the Polish market on a wide scale. The result is a broad palette of new orders. One major order in this respect is all technology solutions for all the buildings in the first phase of the new theme and adventure park 'Adventure World' in Warsaw. This Disney-like park is the first large-scale theme and adventure park in Eastern Europe and will be fully completed in 2018. In this first phase, Imtech is responsible for the energy supply, the heating, ventilation and air conditioning and all electrical solutions. Imtech also expects to be able to play a role in the next two phases of the project. The fact that a park like this is being built in Poland, reflects the healthy economic phase that Poland is in. After all, buildings and industry aren't the only sectors that attract investors; investments are also increasingly being made in leisure and culture. That Imtech is able to respond effectively to this trend not only becomes apparent from orders for the technical infrastructure for a new sports centre in Cracow and aqua parks in Olsztyn and Olecko, but also from the prestigious orders for all technology solutions in the new concert hall of Wejherwo (tested in the Imtech R&D centre in Hamburg), the Jewish Museum in Warsaw (recently visited by USA president Obama) and the film academy 'Leon Schiller' in Lódz. Imtech has also managed a breakthrough in the care & cure market, with technology orders in, for example, hospitals in Gdansk and Olsztyn.
Innovative energy solutions
In Poland, energy efficiency is assigned increasingly high priority. In part thanks to Imtech's unique energy expertise, the company has landed the order for the energy-efficient technological modernisation of the railway station in Katowice, which was built in 1846 and was last modernised in 1972, and the new accompanying multi-purpose office and shopping complex 'Galeria Katowice'. A high-tech transport tunnel will be constructed under both buildings. In this tunnel too, Imtech will be handling all technical solutions, including the fire protection system. The high-tech energy-efficient cooling, heating and ventilation facilities feature new, innovative technologies such as an energy-efficient network of heat pumps that both supply and extract energy, so that on average, a relatively low temperature suffices and peak loads are prevented. Also for the first time in Europe specific cold and heat conduction between the cold and warm parts of the building will be realised in conjunction to cold and heat exchange in the summer and winter. The result is an ultimate energy efficient building.
