The Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) requires participants to measure their total energy consumption including buildings, transport and industrial processes.
Once significant areas of energy consumption have been identified (90% of your total energy consumption), the next step is to implement a compliant energy assessment before the compliance date of 5th December 2014.
For full compliance under ESOS, organisations that are affected must conduct either energy auditing assessments or energy management activities. For the first phase of the scheme, these can be undertaken at any time within the four year compliance phase (6th December 2011 – 5th December 2015).
Participants can choose to comply through a single route or a combination of routes within the compliance phase - as long as all of the significant energy consumption is assessed by the compliance date.
More information on Energy Audits, ISO 50001 and Display Energy Certificates can be found on our website.
