INNOVATIVE STEAM TECHNOLOGIES has selected EmeraChem, LLC to supply two catalyst systems for installation at the George Sullivan Power Plant project in Anchorage, Alaska.
The expansion to the 1970’s era George Sullivan Power Plant is expected to be completed by the summer of 2016. Municipal Light & Power anticipates the expansion to be one of the world’s most energy-efficient, thermal generation power plants.
The $275 million plant expansion will produce 120 megawatts in a 2x1 combined-cycle configuration.
EmeraChem has equipped over 250 combustion turbines with oxidation catalyst, or catalytic emission control systems worldwide and brings top-level scientific knowledge and many years of experience to the project.
“EmeraChem is honored to be working with IST and MP&L on the George Sullivan expansion project,” said Steven DeCicco, EmeraChem COO. “Our experience in the PowerGen market and scientific expertise will ensure that this plant operates in the cleanest and most efficient way possible.”
