MadgeTech Data Loggers Provide Ease & Convenience for Miura - Case Study
BACKGROUND
Founded in Japan in 1927, Miura is the global leader in industrial steam boiler manufacturing. Miura expanded its manufacturing capabilities in 2010, opening Miura America Co. in Rockmart, Georgia. Five years later, Miura International Americas Inc. was established to service Canada, USA, Mexico and Brazil. Known for their on-demand steam solutions, Miura’s high efficiency and low emissions boilers provide a technological advantage as EPA and emissions standards begin to tighten across the USA and North America.
CHALLENGE
Miura performs efficiency and load studies on existing customer equipment to appropriately size a new solution. To calculate steam demand and existing boiler efficiency, Miura needed a data logging system to record a variety of voltage and current outputs.
SOLUTION
To simplify the monitoring process, Miura has a vast collection of MadgeTech data loggers which include the Process101A, Volt101A, Pulse101A, TC101A and the RTDTemp101A.
When conducting pre-installation visits, Miura performs a preliminary one-hour study on the existing equipment, then arrange a group of MadgeTech data loggers to record how the equipment performs over two weeks. Once the two-week study is complete, Miura’s support team compiles the data and creates efficiency and load study reports using the MadgeTech 4 Software. The detailed reports allow sales to create a submittal for a higher efficiency replacement system.
