Mecasolar’s orders surpass 140 MW for 2008
Mecasolar, a company that designs, manufactures and distributes dual-axis solar trackers has surpassed the 140 MW mark in orders for 2008. This figure converts the company into the European leader both in terms of its capacity to manufacture—14,000 trackers a year and its four manufacturing plants: Fustiñana, Ribaforada and Tudela, in Navarra; and Talavera la Real, Badajoz; along with its number of parks installed.
Mecasolar—a company in the OPDE Group—specialises in the manufacturing and supply of dual-axis solar trackers (models MS Tracker 10 and MS Tracker 10+), which are purchased by companies developing photovoltaic solar energy parks. Some of its clients include Iberinco (Iberdrola), Grupo TSK, Heliosolar, Enatica, Fotosolar, Anbelo Solar and OPDE.
Mecasolar´s current projects for the supply of its solar trackers spread throughout ten Spanish autonomous communities: Extremadura with 50 Mw and Andalusia and Navarra, with 20 Mw respectively, as the top three with its greatest presence. Mecasolar´s trackers will be installed in photovoltaic solar energy projects in Castilla and León (10 Mw), Castilla La Mancha (10Mw), the Community of Valencia (10 Mw), Aragón (5 Mw), La Rioja (5 Mw), Murcia (5 Mw) and Catalonia (4 Mw).
Currently as of today, there are 65 solar photovoltaic energy parks to which Mecasolar supplies to in Spain, a figure they hope to increase by the end of the year.
The largest capacity facilities include: Almaraz, in Cáceres (20 Megawatts); Aliwin, also in Cáceres (20 Mw); Las Gabias, in Granada (13 Mw); Talayuela (Cáceres, 10 Mw) and the solar energy parks in Navarra: Fustiñana and Castejón, where they each reach 5 Megawatts.
The First Installation in GREECE
Along with the projects developed in Spain, Mecasolar has carried out its first installation in Greece after its recent branch opening in the country. Specifically, the facility has a 100 kW capacity in the Greek city of Gallitos.
Mecasolar will be at the Intersolar trade fair with its own stand (stand B5.595) in Munich from the June 12 to 14; along with the European PV Conference in Valencia (1-4 September) and the Power Expo in Zaragoza (24-26 September).
MECASOLAR
Mecasolar is a company dedicated to designing, manufacturing and distributing dual axis, azimuth and in height tracking systems: MS Tracker 10 in two versions, 10 and 10 +. This tracker is a result of more than two years of the company’s research and development, and as part of the OPDE Group.
The MS TRACKER 10 and 10 + trackers follow the sun through an astronomical programme. The incorporated automation controls the gear’s which place the photovoltaic surface perpendicular to the sun’s rays, maximizing the generation of electric energy. It also allows the tracker to return to a night position, and start up the evening position to begin the daily work cycle.
With the Mecasolar Tracker system, a photovoltaic facility’s performance is enhanced relative to static structures, with enhancements greater than 35%, depending on the geographic location of the factory, reaching even enhancements of 45% in some regions in Spain.
This increase in photovoltaic production is converted into a maximisation of investment returns, due to a higher production rate and reduced solar module investment—the most expensive element in a facility, providing reduced investment PAY-BACKs and a higher ROI.
Another distinguishing aspect of the MECASOLAR trackers (MS TRACKER 10 and MS TRACKER 10+) is its 10 year factory guarantee on parts and labour, being the only tracker in Europe offering this guarantee.
