More than 260 exhibitors from 17 countries and regions will attend Eco Expo Asia 2011
Extensive fringe programmes deliver latest market intelligence and business opportunities
Under the theme “Green Tech for a Low-Carbon Economy”, over 260 exhibitors from 17 countries and regions will participate in the 6th edition of Eco Expo Asia which will be held from 26 – 29 October 2011 at AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong.
There will be pavilions from Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, the United Kingdom and the United States, and a national booth from the Netherlands, plus regional mainland pavilions from Foshan, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
For efficient and convenient sourcing, six thematic zones will be set up: Energy Efficiency & Energy; Waste Management & Recycling; Eco-friendly Products; Green Building Solution & Service; Green Transportation; and Testing, Inspection & Certification.
Here, renowned exhibitors will introduce their latest environmental products, technologies and solutions for a low-carbon economy and a sustainable society. They include BYD, Canon, CLP, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, SGS HK Ltd, Siemens, Sita Waste, Towngas, Veolia and Yau Lee Holdings Limited.

This year’s fair features extensive fringe programmes which provide added value to exhibitors and buyers.
Bank of China (Hong Kong) Eco Asia Conference
The annual Eco Asia Conference, to be held on 26 – 28 October, brings together overseas and domestic experts and academics to address latest technologies and hot current eco issues. This year the conference will be divided into five sessions: Eco Opportunities and Challenges in the Mainland’s 12th Five-Year Plan, Green Tech Transfer & Business Opportunities; Waste Management & Recycling; Clean Energy and Energy Efficiency; and Green Building. Topic and speaker highlights include:

Exchange Forum
This is a new one-on-one initiative which provides a one-stop platform for buyers to meet different suppliers of the same sector. On 27 October, the forum will be devoted to waste management and recycling and then, green building on 28 October.
New Trends on Eco Testing, Inspection and Certification Services Forum
Presented by the British Standards Institute (BSI), SGS Hong Kong Limited and Hong Kong Council for Testing and Certifcation, this Forum will cover international trends for standards, road-maps towards greener business and how testing and certification services help to enhance market competitiveness. The forum will be held on 28 October.
Public Day Forum
In order to promote the concept of a low-carbon economy and a sustainable society, the fair will be open to the general public on its last day (29 October) and will also feature the Public Day Forum offering the following topics:
- Reliability and Survivability: The Future of Energy
- Canon: Green Office – Saving Energy and More!
- Cool Heads and Cool Energy-Saving Solutions in the face of Global Warming
In addition, on the public day, test rides of eco-friendly vehicles will be offered by BYD and Tesla Motors and can be booked in advance by visiting the fair’s website.
