NEMEX - Providing Solutions for Energy Management
Keeping up with the demands of energy management and changing legislation can be simplified as the NEC plays host to the UK 's largest energy and environmental exhibitions. Following on from last year's success, the three-day event combines the National Energy Management Exhibition (NEMEX, www.nemex-energy.co.uk), Environmental Technology (ET, www.et-expo.co.uk) and International Clean Up (ICU, www.international-cleanup.com) under one roof and runs from 24-26 May 2005.
Providing an essential industry forum, with new ideas, innovative technologies, plus a high level conference and seminar programme, NEMEX is the UK 's longest-running event dedicated to highlighting issues and solutions on energy management and efficiency.
Given that the UK wastes an estimated £5bn worth of energy annually, energy efficiency is the clear solution to clever management and cost cutting.
The NEMEX special events programme covers pressing energy issues such as:
- Low carbon technologies
- Renewable energy
- Sustainable buildings
- EU directives
- UK legislation
- Rising energy costs
- Lifecycle costing
- Advisory services and funding
Andrew Warren from the Association for the Conservation of Energy (ACE) chairs the NEMEX Conference on 24 May, bringing together industry specialists from The Carbon Trust, BRE Environment, Future Energy Solutions, Asda and Sainsbury's to discuss energy efficiency, the EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive and what can be done to keep both costs and CO 2 emissions down.
The NEMEX seminar programme on 25 May features speakers from organisations such as the National Energy Foundation, Faber Maunsell and the Carbon Trust. Professor Martin Fry, Chairperson of the Energy Systems Trade Association (ESTA) and the NEMEX seminar programme says; “Energy efficiency plays a vital part in today's business economy. Making the most of resources either by consuming less or turning more to renewable supplies is vital, not simply for the business bottom line, but also for the sustainable future of society. ”
Free sessions hosted by the Energy Institute, ESTA and ICOM Energy Association as well as meuc's gas and electricity buyers' meetings provide additional advice to improve energy management. New to NEMEX this year is the Road to Renewables initiative highlighting exhibitors demonstrating renewable products or services while the Energy Manager of the Year Award will be presented at the NEMEX Gala Dinner.
