New agreement brings global bioenergy expertise to Sweden

The Swedish Bioenergy Association (Svebio) and Elmia AB have agreed to co-organise another three World Bioenergy events in Jönköping in 2010, 2012 and 2014.
World Bioenergy was launched almost six years ago and after four editions has established itself as the internationally leading meeting place and trade fair for the bioenergy industry. World Bioenergy is now also one of the few trade fairs in the Nordic region to attract visitors and conference delegates from around the world.
“Sweden is a global leader in a number of bioenergy sectors,” says Jakob Hirsmark, Elmia’s project manager for the fair. “Not least in the forest fuels and wood fuels sector, pellets, combined power and heating plants, and biomass-based vehicle fuels.”
“With the aid of Svebio’s expertise in the bioenergy industry and Elmia’s experience at arranging large international fairs, we look forward to continuing to work together to develop World Bioenergy as a global meeting place,” comments Gustav Melin, president of Svebio. “We created this unique concept combining a trade fair, conference and excursions back in 2004 and it has been greatly appreciated.”
