New Axetris IRS Final Test Platform Launched: Now includes customer-specific burn-ins
Source: Axetris AG
Before delivery to our customers, the drift behavior of every source is measured during final testing. First, cold resistance for each source is determined. Depending on the results of this test, drive power for each source is adjusted individually. This ensures that all sources will be burnt at equal temperatures during the so-called “burn-in”. Hot resistance is measured before and after burn-in to determine the amount of drift. After the following cooldown period, cold resistance is measured to again to determine the drift of this characteristic.
Optical output is then measured at four power levels. In this process, a photovoltaic detector, calibrated to absolute power values is employed. In this case, we use HgCdTe-semiconductors.
Each of our products has pre-defined thresholds for acceptable resistance drift and optical power that must be met.
Our customers will only receive EMIRS 50 that have passed all final tests on the platform. Those that fail to meet our exacting standards are discarded. A portion is examined by our R&D engineers to determine the cause of failure. This allows us to continually improve our products.
The flexibility of our new final test platform allows for customer-specific burn-ins in addition to the standardized testing suit.
