New Earth strengthens energy team

New Earth Energy, the Dorset-based waste to energy company, has welcomed three new senior members of staff.
Alex Young joins as Commercial Director and will head the company’s commercial and contractual activity, including the sale of electricity and renewable energy. Alex previously worked for EDF Energy and more recently Infinis, the UK’s largest renewable energy generator.
Robert Asquith is a recognised expert in securing planning consents and other authorisations and joins New Earth Energy as Planning Director. Robert has worked in both consultancy and contracting for Terence O’Rourke and Waste Recycling Group.
John Baker joins as Project Director and his initial role will be the delivery of the Mersey Green Solution project, a joint venture with partners, Biossence. John’s experience is in construction management and PFI projects, having worked for Jarvis, Babcock and Brown and VT Group.
Chris Cox, Managing Director of New Earth Energy, sister company to the established New Earth Solutions waste treatment business said: “We are extremely fortunate to have attracted Alex, Robert and John to help implement our ambitious growth plans. The creation of a strong management team for the energy business is central to establishing New Earth as a leading UK player in the recovery of renewable energy from waste-derived fuels. We have an exciting growth pipeline of site developments, business collaborations and acquisition opportunities.”
