CPM-Europe has developed a revolutionary oil-based lubrication system for the rollers of the pellet mill.
This newly developed system has a number of benefits that offer significantly lower operational cost compared to regular grease-lubricated rollers, as well as strongly improved process control.
Technical description
The oil-based lubrication system is a system using forced oil circulation to ensure continuous and full lubrication of the rollers. An oil-flow to each individual roller enables continuous monitoring and control of the roller-temperatures. As these oil-flows are filtered, they rinse the bearings and remove contaminants such as dirt, dust, moisture and wear particles.
The oil lubrication system consists of a separate oil-unit incl. storage, oil pump, filter and heat exchanger designed to deliver a controlled oil-flow to each roller.
Together, these features give the following advantages:
- improved lubrication of roller bearings
- reduced internal heat generation
- cooling of roller bearings
- direct monitoring of roller temperatures
- continuous removal of contaminants from the rollers.
