Pollutec Horizons at the heart of international exchanges
NATIONAL STANDS, INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITORS, BUSINESS MEETINGS AND CONFERENCES
At a time when the preservation of the environment has become a global challenge, Pollutec Horizons offers a forum for international exchanges. Every year it attracts a high quality array of exhibits from outside France and welcomes numerous exhibitors or national stands showing off their latest solutions and know-how. It is an event eagerly awaited by foreign professionals and companies involved in the sector, who visit to learn about market trends.
INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITORS: A DETAILED REVIEW, REGION BY REGION
International exhibitors originating from every continent are to be found on the national stands (25% more area than in 2007), institutional ones ( representing 13 countries) and individual stands:
-North America
There is a strong North American presence this year with Canada being country of the year and presenting the innovative technologies of over 20 companies in the field of water treatment (ultraviolet irradiation, biology and membrane systems), clean energy (fuel cells, small hydroelectric plants, wind and solar energy, biomass) and, more generally, environmental management.
In parallel with this, an institutional stand co-ordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade will present the know-how of the country’s leading provinces. So far the participation of Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and Saskatchewan has been announced and the stand will host leading technical centres and clusters involved in the development of environmental technologies.
Still on the North American continent, the USA, as every year, will have a national stand supported by the commercial department of the US embassy, and this will feature companies specializing in the decontamination of soils, amongst other activities.
-South America
Now a Pollutec Horizons regular, Brazil will be taking part for the fourth year in a row through its national confederation of industry, the CNI. The Al-Invest programme has chosen Pollutec Horizons as the European platform for developing the commercial approaches of Brazilian, Mexican, Chilean, Bolivian, Cuban and Venezuelan SMEs through business meetings.
In anticipation of its role in 2010 as country of the year, Chile will have an institutional stand that will host a delegation of Chilean companies clustered around the two main partners of the show, Prochile and AEPA.
-Europe
Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom have confirmed their presence.
One point to note is an increased commitment by Germany, with the involvement of North Rhine Westphalia (NRW), Bavaria and two new regions Rhineland Palatinate and Lower Saxony.
North Rhine Westphalia, region of the year at the previous show and partner of the Ile de France region, will celebrate 10 years at the show with a fresh array of exhibitors from 11 companies and several competitiveness centres focusing on such key sectors as renewables, energy efficiency, the exploitation of waste, water treatment and soil decontamination.
Together, they will offer a conference programme of 4 lectures dealing with eco quarters and mobility, eco construction, waste exploitation and water treatment.
The Bavarian pavilion, organized by Bayern International and the Bavarian Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, will feature ten companies involved in fluid management, water treatment, waste treatment and energy.
Lower Saxony, which is organizing a pavilion for the first time, is bringing seven companies with it working in fields such as energy, and the treatment of air, waste and water.
The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg stand will have five companies including a biotechnology design practice, a company specializing in water treatment, a supplier of rainwater recovery and sewerage solutions, a consulting engineer and an NGO.
Wallonia is another regular and will have a multi-sector stand covering sewerage, water, waste and air treatment, recycling, as well as eco-responsible products.
-Asia
The continent will be represented by South Korea, Taiwan, China, and Japan. The last of these four is strengthening its position at the Paris show with the addition of NEDO , which is showing technological innovations in the field of renewables, energy efficiency and photocatalysis, and JETRO , a first time participant at Pollutec Horizons that is bringing 11 exhibitors with it as an indication of just how dynamic Japan’s environment industry is. South Korea returns to Paris under the aegis of KOTRA and is bringing five companies in the fields of energy (thermal solar) and HVAC (heat pumps, heat exchangers, air analysis and purifiers) looking for commercial partners.
-The Near East
Israel will be present in Paris for the first time and is making a major commitment with a stand being jointly organized with the Israeli institute for exports and international co-operation and the Israël Newtech programme (the national programme for the promotion of Israeli technology in the water sector). It will offer solutions for the treatment of water and waste and the production of renewables.
Companies that will be participating include Dorot Control Valves, Madei Taas, Noga, Water Systems, Solid AT, Menolinx Systems, UHEAT, Stream Control, Temed, BPC Bio Petrol clean, Whitewater security, Reali Technologies and NEWH.
