President Obama’s climate strategy and policy options
According to multiple reports, President Obama is expected to make a major announcement on climate change in the coming days. On Monday, June 24, the World Resources Institute will host a media briefing on what to look for in the upcoming announcement.
WRI staff will be joined by other policy experts to discuss potential actions, such as emissions standards for power plants, renewable energy policies, energy efficiency, cutting hydroflurocarbons, and more.
These experts will offer insights into what the President’s announcement will mean for U.S. climate goals and emissions, and what are the next steps to turn these goals into reality.
WRI is the author of the report, Can We Get There From Here?, which looks at specific actions the U.S. Administration and states can take to cut emissions and reach its target of 17% percent by 2020 (below 2005 levels).
