Red deer college residence - successful BIPV customization challenge in Canada - Case Study
Courtesy of Metsolar
Customization heaven – this is how we sometimes call this impressive BIPV solar facade of Red deer college (Canada) campus newest building. This five-story residence, opened in spring 2019, stands out as all of its east, south, and west facades are covered with altogether 163 kW of glass / backsheet photovoltaic panels. Numerous of differently shaped and sized solar panels were used to cover most of the facade and to meet precise design requirements of Manasc Isaac. Metsolar provided 14 types of standard and custom shaped glass/backsheet triangle, trapezoid and rectangle modules all of which had to be made in different sizes and even more with frames.
