Second contract signed for EnviTec Biogas plant in the USA
Flagship project with a Signal effect
Lohne -- From Germany to the world: The export hit biogas has now also reached the United States of America. EnviTec Biogas registered its first successful contract for a biogas plant in the state of New York last year, has now signed a second contract.
Dairy farmer Christopher Noble, of Noblehurst Farms Inc., is following the example of the Jensen family, Lawnhurst Farms LLC, who have made positive headlines among American biogas experts with their 541 kW EnviFarm Classic biogas plant in Stanley in the US state of New York. The Lawnhurst biogas plant has been commissioned by now. The American Biogas Council praised the sustainable mode of operation of the EnviTec plant. They cite it as one of the few in the State of New York to create green energy using complete mixed digestion. American biogas facilities have historically operated on the basis of what is referred to as a 'plug flow' process. Mr. Noble, who had inspected the Jensen plant personally, was above all impressed by the modular design of the EnviTec plant. Other decisive factors behind my decision were the technical know-how and the international expertise of EnviTec“, stated the future operator.
The biogas plant with a planned capacity of 440 kW using a 5.000 m² digester is to be operated with diary cow slurry, waste silage and food waste as the principal input materials. The launch of the construction of the plant, which will supply green energy mainly for operating the farm with 1700 dairy cows in Linwood, New York, has just taken place in the attendance of New York state senator Patrick M. Gallivan. 'We are proud of being able to generate green energy not only for our farm, but also for approx. 300 households', said Noble on the occasion of the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the EnviFarm Classic biogas plant.
The Lohne-based company supports its American customers through the company-owned EnviTec Biogas USA Inc. headquartered in Rochester, New York. 'We see ourselves as an all-round biogas provider always looking out for our customers before, during and after the construction of the plant', said Tom Lawson, Technical Director of EnviTec's USA.
