SITHERMO: Development of a Novel Lidar System foAEOLIKOS: Development of an Innovative Lidar System for Wind Power Measurement in Installation and Monitor the Performance of Coastal Wind Farms (project code: Τ1ΕDΚ-02764) - Case study
Program: Operational Program «Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation», under the call RESEARCH – CREATE – INNOVATE
Starting date: 28/06/2018
Duration: 36 Months
Summary: The measurement of airflow with lidar has emerged in recent years as one of the most innovative technologies in the field of Wind Energy. Until today, the only acceptable way to measure speed is the wind cup on meteorological web (at least 40 meters high, usually 80 meters), which has previously been calibrated in an aerodynamic tunnel. However, in the last few years the air measurement using the lidar method, from ground-based devices, without tissue, has recently been incorporated into the international standard IEC 61400-12-1. This is a great Greek opportunity. The opportunity is that at one time a Raymetrics and a Research Entity (CRES) have already been successfully activated in lidar measurements, and their accumulated expertise (combined with the prestige of the NTUA) can be combined to produce a high quality lidar product in Greece.
Consortium: RAYMETRICS S.A. (Coordinator), Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS), Center for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving (CRES)
Total budget: 835.840,00 €, (Public Expenditure:704.026,00 €, Total Private Expenditure: 131.814,00 €)
