Solutions for Today´s Energy, Efficiency and Sustainability Challenges
-- Frost & Sullivan joins Schneider Electric´s Dallas Xperience Efficiency Event with Kay Bailey Hutchison, Roger Staubach and others
MOUNTAIN VIEW, California, June 12, 2013 /PRN-International Desk/ -- The future of efficiency in the context of global forces driving change in our society, including economic and government rebalancing, urbanization, digitization, and sustainable resources, is an uncertain one at best. This leads to a growing need to better utilize and manage existing resources, and create new solutions that are more efficient, 'smart,' and, ultimately, more sustainable.
To evaluate these trends, Frost & Sullivan Partner Roberta Gamble joins Schneider Electric for the next edition of their global event series, the Dallas Xperience Efficiency Event, taking place June 18-20, 2013 in Dallas, Texas. The event brings together business, government, and society leaders to collaborate and share knowledge on how to solve energy and sustainability challenges.
'Cities, for example, find themselves squeezed for resources and revenues while at the same time trying to attract business and provide their residents a higher quality of life,' said Gamble. 'The 'Smart City' concept now emerging globally is not necessarily a grand and complex plan from the top down, but rather a series of ground-up initiatives that improve resident experiences and city management, from transportation to security, utilities to health and wellbeing.'
Gamble's participation is supported by her global leadership role of Frost & Sullivan's Energy and Environment practice, in which she works closely with major energy-related companies such as manufacturers, service providers and utilities to direct energy research. The Dallas Xperience Efficiency event also features former U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, Executive Chairman of Jones Lang LaSalle Americas and former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach, Vice President for Finance and Administration for the University of North Texas (UNT) Andrew M. Harris, Assistant Vice President of Facilities for UNT Charles Jackson, Pecan Street Inc. Lab Director Scott Hinson, Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins, and President for the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) of the American Hospital Association Mark Kenneday.
'We specifically sought out the brightest minds of both the public and private sectors to spur the development of a tangible plan for addressing our current and future energy efficiency and sustainability challenges,' said North America President and CEO of Schneider Electric Chris Curtis. 'By bringing together experts and thought leaders on the issues of energy efficiency and sustainability, we hope to amplify the current conversation and strengthen the development of a collaborative, comprehensive approach to identify solutions for driving efficiency in cities, business, homes and other settings across the globe.'
Schneider Electric's Xperience Efficiency is a global event series taking place live in cities around the world and online through a virtual event platform. The series began in Washington, D.C. in early June 2013, bringing together Schneider Electric executives, customers and industry thought leaders to share knowledge on how to solve today's energy and sustainability challenges.
