Sputnik’s string inverters certified for Portugal
Source: Solar Max
The SolarMax string inverters from Sputnik Engineering AG have been approved for use in Portuguese solar power plants. At the end of February, the four devices of the SolarMax S series, with nominal outputs from 1.8 to 4.6 kilowatts, received the official certificate from the Portuguese government office. “In particular, Portugal promotes small solar power plants with very high rates of remuneration”, explains Fernando Sánchez García, managing director of Sputnik’s Spanish branch office in Madrid . Therefore, the Portuguese market is interesting – above all – for roof systems using string inverters. Sputnik has just released a string inverter with a nominal output of 3,68 kilowatts particularly for the Portuguese market.
Sputnik Engineering will supply the Portuguese market from its Spanish subsidiary. In 2006, the Swiss manufacturer founded Sputnik Engineering Ibérica S.L.U. in Madrid . In Spain , installations with string inverters are also on the advance since the Spanish Royal Decree 1578/2008, introduced in September last year, capped subsidies for new installations. This situation will particularly reduce the average power of solar power plants.
