Trakref Becomes Energy Star Partner for Energy Management
We’re excited to announce that on November 3, 2020, Trakref was approved to be an ENERGY STAR partner for building energy benchmarking.
This partnership will help us further promote energy efficiency to our clients and, in turn, the relationship between commercial building energy efficiency and refrigerant leaks.
As a commercial building owner or manager, it’s important to comply with applicable energy benchmarking laws for your portfolio and understand how HVACR and refrigerant impacts energy management.
Thus, our new partnership with ENERGY STAR can help you gain a better insight into that.
Better Manage Energy Usage & Improve Your Maintenance Budget with Benchmarking
Over 40+ jurisdictions across the United States have building-energy benchmarking programs in place, where you may be required to submit energy data annually through EPA’s ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager.
Through energy benchmarking, you can assess the energy efficiency of your building. For instance, you can obtain an energy use intensity (EUI) value and compare it to buildings of a similar type.
Not to mention, you will receive an ENERGY STAR Score of 1-100, in which you can rate your building against the national median of 50.
Most importantly, however, benchmarking tells a maintenance budget story overtime, and you can begin to see the impact of your HVACR equipment and refrigerant usage.
Importantly, you may see how your refrigerant leak rates are impacting your budget, and perhaps jeopardizing your comfort, safety, and efficiency.
With these new insights from benchmarking, the next time you manage a maintenance issue on on your HVACR systems, you may have a different and more informed perspective that improves decision making and future operational planning.
