UKAEE Visits St Bartholemews Hospital
UK Association of Energy Engineers (UKAEE) are a non-profit professional organisation for individuals with an active interest in energy conservation. They are highly interested in Clarke Energy due to us being a multinational specialist in distributed power generation solutions. They are keen to promote the scientific and educational interests of the energy industry and to foster action for sustainable development.
The UKAEE requested a site visit to St Bartholemew’s innovative pink trigeneration plant, which was the first fully financed private finance initiative (PFI) variation of its kind, part of the ‘Powering Health’ collaboration. This collaboration is to deliver lower impact, fully funded combined cooling heat and power (CCHP) solutions to the NHS Trust. The new natural gas plant will play a vital role in helping to increase the energy efficiency, resilience and availability of Barts Health NHS Trust, while also promoting greater financial savings.
The agenda included a presentation from Paul O’Neill, Natural Gas Sector Manager, on how to target engineers with potential CHP requirements. This was followed by Fiona Daly, Environmental Manager of St Bart’s, who spoke of the scheme and engine over-performing to-date. This was then concluded with a site tour and networking whilst the event came to a close.
Clarke Energy plans further work with the UKAEE in the near future, including site visits across various Clarke Energy power plants in the UK.
