Upgrading biogas to Green Gas (De Groene Poort, Rilland)
On behalf of SenterNovem, Colsen b.v. performs a feasibility study to the upgradeability and the availability of biogas to Green Gas at the initiator De Groene Poort in Rilland. SenterNovem wants to investigate the feasibility of de production of Green Gas via certain feasibility studies from tangible potential projects under the arrangement of Stimulering Duurzame Energie. For this, Colsen b.v. compares the available techniques concerning investment and exploitation, avoided CO2 emissions and environment- technical aspects. Colsen b.v. also calculates the prices of Green Gas for the potential project.De Groene Poort is a cooperation between the horticulture company Lans b.v. and several different agrarians. De Groene Poort is planning to erect a bio-ethanol installation, a biogas-digesting installation and a water purification installation in the area between de Bathpolderweg en de Oude Rijksweg in Rilland. These plans come forth from the search for new chances in the local agriculture. Processing agricultural products and rest products offers these new chances according to extensive preliminary studies. The basic assumption for this feasibility study was the input of 4.167m3/h biogas from the future digesting installation of De Groene Poort. In the feasibility study, Colsen b.v. examined diverse scenario’s, in which the Green Gas was used in the horticulture company, was supplied to the gas network or was used for mobility. Next to performing the feasibility study, Colsen b.v. was also granted the assignment by De Groene Poort of making a pre-design and budget for the realization of a combined biogas / ethanol installation with water purification (digestate purification) and biogas production. Also the benefits of synergy between bio-ethanol and horticulture were hereby examined.
