Utility Association Announces Solar Scholarship Program
The Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA), a national membership organization working to facilitate the use and integration of solar electric power by utilities and their customers, is pleased to announce the availability of scholarships for electric utility employees to attend Solar Power 2007.
Solar Power 2007 is the largest US solar event, featuring more than 175 exhibitors, 125 speakers, and numerous networking events. Over 10,000 people are expected to attend the event, which will be held at the Long Beach Convention Center from September 24 to 27. The event provides the opportunity for utilities, policy makers, facility managers, and others with a business interest in solar energy to learn about products currently on the market, the companies that supply them, research developments, market trends, and new policies and regulations.
“When planning the conference agenda, utilities are one of the target audiences we concentrate on most,” says Julia Judd, SEPA executive director and Solar Power 2007 chairperson. “Since utilities are a key to simple interconnection to the grid and increasing consumer awareness we focus on offering educational content that will benefit utility employees.”
SEPA is offering a limited number of scholarships to utility employees who could not otherwise attend Solar Power 2007 due to travel or budget constraints. The deadline to submit applications is August 1, 2007. The application can be downloaded at http://www.solarelectricpower.org/docs/SEPA_Scholarship.pdf.
