Batch Gasification System


Each chamber of this BATCH system is loaded one time per day, a 30 minute activity.  Thereafter, the chamber operates unattended and without disturbance for 23 hours.  Emissions and ash quality are the best in the world.  The white ash color shows close to 100% complete burnout.

Thermal Oxidation is not active, turbulent incineration. It is gasification, using little auxiliary fuel, other than for start-up.     This batch process of waste reduction integrates slow gasification and long exposure time at moderate temperature, and couples it with a high temperature and excess air secondary chamber.   Benefits of this patent pending process are:

The most important operating characteristic of the Primary Chambers is the 'quiet', low temperature environment in a large chamber.  This minimizes particulate emissions, heavy metals, and most noxious gasses.  The low temperature environment results in minimizing slagging glass and reduces system maintenance.

The gasification process occurs in the Primary Chamber exposing all materials over a 23 hour period.  Inorganic materials such as rock, metals, aluminum, glass, copper wire, and cans never reach a gaseous state since the temperatures in the Primary Chamber are normally kept below even their melting points.  Hazardous heavy metal emissions to atmosphere are, therefore, minimized.  The unoxidized inorganic materials remaining are sterilized, cleaned, and in their original material state, and are thereby easily and safely separated from the ash for recycling.

A key characteristic of Batch Gasification is its clean emissions.  The following characteristics collectively contribute to the excellent basic emissions of this process.  

LARGE GASIFICATION CHAMBER      The large 24 hour batch sized chamber produces an environment of extremely “quiet” combustion, compared to the small chambers featuring continuous waste feeding.  

UNDISTURBED WASTE BED   The “batch” feature creates undisturbed waste materials.  Instead of constant commotion and movement caused by continuous feeding, the waste is never moved from the instant of light off.  

UNIFORM, CONTROLLED TEMPERATURE The large chamber allows for easier temperature and gasification control of non-uniform waste.  A large face of the waste is being constantly exposed to temperature.  Therefore the “average” waste characteristic of the large face changes very little compared to a continuous feed system, making control much more uniform.  

 EMISSION STANDARDS It is easier to clean gasses which are already very clean from the gasification process.  We can guarantee with high confidence that emissions following our scrubbing equipment will more easily meet European Union standards than any other type of incinerator.

ISLANDS, RESORTS, and remote mining sites present a difficult challenge in clean and safe waste disposal.  The Batch Gasifier can be sized to for ocean ship transport, flown into very remote sites, or trucked in ready to operate with very little assembly. The system can remain on a truck bed for portable applications.

Remaining ash is minimized (97% reduction is common) and non-hazardous for convenient local disposal.
