Biomass Power Plants
The fermentation chamber is fed with corn silage. From small nozzles trickles the percolate onto the silage and wash out the organic material. The percolate is circulated and in order to fed the anaerobic process water storage (percolate storage) continuously with nutrients. The degradation of the organic acids into bio gas inside the percolate storage leads to an increased pH of the percolate often even above the neutral point. From the alkaline percolate, Struvite is created. Struvite is growing very fast inside pipelines, pumps, distributing nozzle, armatures and filters systems for solids. Short cleaning intervals reduce the availability of the system. An economic operation is not possible to achieve under this circumstances.

Due to the application of the Fluid-Liner® in the area of the suction and pressure pipeline, the lifetime of the system was significantly increased. The continuous percolate feeding to the biomass causes not only a higher gas yield by the same amount of nutrients used but also an improvement of the fermentationresidue and a higher concentration of the percolate. Thereby it was possible to operate the biogas plant in an economical way. After the optimisation the Fluid-Liner® was amortized during half a year.
