Cogeneration Plants
Cogeneration is the simultaneous generation of electricity and useful heat from a single process involving significant savings in primary energy and the subsequent reduction in emissions of greenhouse gases. Simultaneous generation of electricity and thermal energy is energy produced at the point of consumption, preventing transmission grid losses, with potential energy efficiency of up to 85%.
Product Details
Today, a significant 11.2% of the electricity consumed in Europe (cumulative capacity> 100 GW) is generated by Cogeneration.
Cogeneration plants can draw on a wide range of energy sources, fossil fuels such as natural gas, LPG (propane and butane) or HFOand renewable energy sources (biomass) and waste.
EQTEC has built cogeneration plants ranging from 60 kWeto40,000 kWe with a total installed thermal power of over 400 MWth, installed in a wide range of sectors:
- food industry
- chemical industry.
- textile industry.
- wood industry.
- cardboard industry.
- ceramic industry.
- information technology and communication (ITC)
- municipal solid waste incinerators
- sport complexes, public pools, water, etc.
Cogeneration projects offer significant benefits to the customer such as:
- Improved industrial competitiveness.
- Reduced environmental impact of its activity.
- Energy supply safety
