Combi Boilers System
From Domestic Pannels
The Energy Saving Trust states that by switching to a new boiler from an older, inefficient one you could save up to £340 per year. Your boiler accounts for around 55% of your energy spend throughout the year, so if you want to save money by keeping energy bills down, this is usually a good place to begin.

Item Information
Boilers older than 10 years are usually very inefficient, and can cost on average around 35% more to run than an A-rated, energy efficient condensing boiler. Breakdowns of boilers can often lead to expensive repair bills, sometimes totaling hundreds of pounds.
Benifits
These are now the most common type of installation in UK homes as they offer lots of benefits including:
• Efficient running costs
• Save space as they do not require a water storage tank
• Allow high pressure showering without the need for a pump for most homes
• Cheaper installation than a traditional system
Conventional Boilers
These are fed by mains cold water, which is stored in your water tank within the loft ready to be heated and ‘topped up’ with heat as and when required. This type of boiler produces hot water for taps and showers, and heats your central heating system directly.
Conventional System boilers are often a good choice for larger properties or homes that use a lot of water, as they have a separate hot water tank which provides large volumes of heated water to the various parts of the home. They also use a sealed heating system to heat the entire property.
This type of boiler can give a faster response and a lower running cost.
Thanks to Energy Gain UK’s experience in installing home heating systems, we are able to assess your property and its requirements, and offer a solution that is the most cost effective both in terms of installation and running costs.
FAQS
Why Are New Boilers More Efficient?
A well maintained boiler will burn its fuel very efficiently, but they inevitably lose some heat in the hot gases that escape up the flue. A new condensing boiler has a bigger heat exchanger, so it recovers more heat and sends cooler gases up the flue, so is more efficient.
The flue gases can get so cool that the water vapour in the gas condenses out. When this happens even more energy is recovered from the condensing vapour and the efficiency gets higher still.
How Much Could I Save Each Year?
This will depend on how old and inefficient your existing boiler is but here are some examples of what you could save.
Upgrading an old boiler without controls with a new A-rated condensing boiler with a programmer, room thermostat and thermostatic radiator controls (TRVs) could save you:
These are estimated figures based on installing a new A-rated condensing boiler with a programmer, room thermostat and thermostatic radiator controls (TRVs) in a gas-heated home from a boiler without controls. Savings will vary depending upon the size and thermal performance of your home.
