Digestate / Biofertiliser Storage
Jones McGirr & Co Ltd design, manufacture and install cost effective digestate/biofertiliser storage for use in the rapidly expanding, and government supported, anaerobic digester market.
Anerobic Digester Units
Anerobic Digester Units
Anaerobic Digester Units (ADUs) represent a way of generating electricity using methane gas derived from the digestion process. The AD process is where bacteria break down organic material in the absence of oxygen, producing a methane-rich biogas that can be combusted to generate electricity and/or heat. Biogas methane content is about 60% whereas natural gas is about 80%. Slurry, waste food and waste animal feed are used to produce the methane. Digestate or biofertiliser is one of the end products derived from the AD process, which requires storage prior to spreading to land.
Advantages Of Anaerobic Digesters
- Providing an alternative income stream for farmers and businesses
- Reducing greenhouse gas emissions
- Reducing our use of fossil fuels and helping the UK to reach its renewable energy targets
- Improving energy security
- Diverting waste from landfill
Digestate/Biofertiliser Storage
Jones McGirr & Co. Ltd – members of the Anaerobic Digestion and Biogas Association (ADBA) - believe that ADUs present an exciting opportunity for generating electricity, and that entry into the market should be encouraged, without incurring prohibitive costs. Our cost effective digestate/biofertiliser stores will enable investors to save money or allow them spend more money elsewhere on the project, such as at the highly technical end which may make their plant more efficient.
Benefits Of Our Digestate/Biofertiliser Stores
- The most cost effective storage solution available in this market, allowing businesses to save money, or spend the savings elsewhere in the project
- 30 year guarantee with periodic inspection (with life expectancy of 50 years)
- Can be shaped to suit any site – our 2.5mm HDPE lining is welded in sheets in situ to suit the precise dimensions of the excavation
- Comply with Environment Agency (EA) regulations set out with relation to the storage of digestate/biofertiliser
- Can be installed quickly and without fuss
- Covering the digestate with one of our covers prevents rainwater from diluting the digestate and therefore reducing the volume needing to be handled
- The aeration system we fit to our liners maintains the digestate in a homogenised state providing a balanced fertiliser suitable for spreading at a time of your choosing
