Fostoria - Medium Velocity Warming Oven Systems
From Industrial Oven Applications
Medium Velocity Warming Oven Systems operate at temperatures ranging from 100 degrees F to 250 F and can be used for a variety of applications. With more technology being incorporated in the automobile, wiring harnesses are becoming larger and require heat to make them more pliable and easier to install. These ovens are also used to allow pressure-sensitive adhesives to perform more efficiently at higher temperatures (such as with body side moldings) and where pliability aids fit (such as with rubber bushings applied to door fittings).

Products Details
Fostoria has developed a variety of oven systems to meet specific heating requirements, Minimize space and increase production speeds on assembly lines. We welcome the opportunity to consult with you regarding these and many other applications. Listed below are some examples of this equipment.
Example of a Container System:
This oven is designed to heat wire harnesses inside the container. As you can see, the container has pockets for the wiring harnesses. The container rotates inside the heating chamber to allow the hot air to enter into the pockets to heat the harness. When the operator is ready to start unloading the container, he will rotate the container 90° to allow access to the harness. Heating is done on the production line side of the vehicle.
Example of an Offline System:
This oven is designed to heat parts inside a container. You can see the oven is located away from the production line side. The equipment has a rapid-roll door installed on the load / unload side to improve on overall heating efficiency. This oven can also provide heat from the top. The backside can be placed close to a wall if required.
Example of a Conveyorized Warming Oven System:
This conveyor belt oven allows you to load the wire harness at the aisle side, and unload it at the production line side. This equipment allows the wire harness to be heated one at a time. It improves the pliability of the wiring harness, making it more ergonomically friendly. The conveyor belt is designed to allow air to move through it but prevents small wiring and electrical components from tangling in the belt.
Example of a Carousel Oven System:
The carousel oven is designed to heat the wire harnesses one (or one set) at a time. The container is located beside the oven. The operator will remove a hot wiring harness from the oven and replace it with one from the container. The harnesses are heated more efficiently in this manner. Production requirements and size of the wiring harness will determine the height and size of the oven system. Another advantage of a vertical carousal oven is that it requires less production floor space. The basket can be supplied with a divider if required and can be modified for a variety of products.
