The major advantages of the modular HRSG concept can be summarized as follows:

Shorter delivery time
Shorter delivery times are achieved by increasing the standardization of the HRSG. For example, all non-pressure parts, such as stair-towers, ducting, stacks, platforms and ladders have been extensively standardized. The high degree of standardization of the pressure part modules enables purchase orders for lead items to be placed immediately after contract-award.
Lower erection costs
By using the modular design, most internal piping is pre-installed in the workshop. This results in a lower number of relative expensive field welds. The modules are designed as self-supporting structures, resisting wind, material and earthquake loads individually. The modules can be easily installed on their pedestals at the rate of two modules per day.
The non-pressure parts are delivered in pieces that are as large as possible, thus requiring less work at site.
With this modular construction, the total erection cost is minimized.
Higher quality level and reduced risk
As the pressure part modules are pre fabricated in the workshop to the highest extent possible, most critical welds are prepared under ideal conditions resulting in a higher quality standard.
Due to the lower total number of man-hours required at site, the overall project risk is minimized.
