IEM - Container Shifting System
One example of the use of a container shifting system is to dispose of bottom ash. The necessary transport task is handled using roll-on/roll-off containers via powered roller conveyors and lateral displacement conveyors. To ensure seamless operation, the shifting equipment holds an empty replacement container which it swaps with the full container completely automatically. This reduces downtime to a minimum. There is a shifter for closed and open-top containers that works well for smaller spaces. There is also an option of connecting a weighing mechanism to the filling position to ensure that the container is not overfilled.
