Mecan-Hydro - Radial Gates (Tainter)
From Gates & Operating Systems - Gates
The radial gate consists of a skin plate which is formed into a circular segment that rotates on a pivot. The water load passes through radials arms and through trunnion pins, resulting in no unbalanced moment to be overcome when hoisting the gate. Used on large waterway passages where the presence of lifting gates is impossible.
