AutarcTech - Model LiRack - Energy Storage System
From Own Electricity Use
Power storage from AutarcTech use a active balancing when loading and unloading the battery cells. They are therefore durable and can use up to 20% more energy than batteries with passive balancing at the same rated capacity. They are unsafe and cannot ignite themselves.
Product Details
AutarcTech's electricity storage systems offer significant advantages over conventional power storage systems and are a central component of our self-sufficient power storage systems.
Due to their chemical-physical properties, lithium storage systems require a battery management system (BMS) to maximize the capacity of the individual cells and to keep the voltage of the cells at the same level.
Passive balancingMost batteries use passive balancing. Until all cells have reached the same state of charge, energy for the already full cells is converted into heat – so it is wasted. The discharge depth also depends on the weakest cells during discharge and reaches only 70%, while the efficiency of passive balancing is thus 0%. The resilience and capacity of the battery are reduced over the years, and the service life is shortened.
Active BalancingWith their own development, AutarcTech uses Joulie-16 active balancing when loading the battery. The loading states of the cells are constantly compensated for with each other. This leads to an efficiency of the balancing of 92%. The cells can be discharged up to 90%, i.e. 20% more energy can be used than with passive balancing!
Quiet and coolSince the battery does not heat up in this procedure, there are no disturbing noise from fans that are required when stored with passive balancing.
LifetimeActive balancing increases the lifetime of the cells by approx. 30% compared to passive balancing. According to the test report of the Ansbach University of Applied Sciences, a service life of more than 20 years is possible under the given conditions.
SecurityAutarctech uses lithium-iron phosphate (LiFePO4) in batteries. Thanks to their conception, the cells are considered intrinsically safe, i.e. without risk of fire and explosion.
Environmental compatibilityThe lithium-iron-phosphate cells (LEP) used do not contain heavy metals such as cobalt, nickel or cadmium and can be recycled almost completely.
