Powercorn - Model 75 kW - Heating Systems for Grain as Fuel
From Heating Systems for Grain as Fuel
With its unique step grate technology, this system offers the ideal solution for the combustion of grain as fuel (triticale and barley) as well as pellets. The formation of acids and slag are prevented through perfect combustion chamber temperatures of around 650 °C.
Perfect Combustion
Perfect Combustion
A clever control program starts the hot air fan quickly and efficiently. Pellets are perfectly consumed at the ideal combustion chamber temperature of around 650 °C. A self-cleaning step grate ensures the necessary movement within the incandescent bed, as well as the ash removal. The generated combustion gases are cleanly converted into energy in a large burnout zone with the aid of secondary air.
Reaction Pipe And Heat Exchanger
Reaction Pipe And Heat Exchanger
Wood gas is cleanly converted into energy in the specially developed reaction pipe; an efficient cyclonic separator removes dust. The tubular heat exchanger downstream is permanently cleaned by moving turbulators, enabling it to utilise the entire heating energy.
Easy And Efficient
Easy And Efficient
The control unit with user prompts controls and monitors the entire combustion process via Lambda probe and temperature sensor. It also can provide information at any time on operating mode and system efficiency. An optional weather-compensated control unit ensures an ideal heat distribution and creates a comfortable living space with the highest heating convenience.
Cleaning Has Never Been Easier
Cleaning Has Never Been Easier
A slow moving ash screw conveyor removes the grate ash into an extremely large mobile ash container. The dust from the heat exchanger cleaning process is also continuously removed into a container that is easy to empty. Options: Vacuum ash discharge with 200 l ash drum.
Benefits At A Glance
- Regulated incandescent bed temperature: Perfect ash formation, no slag formation
- Self-cleaning step grate: The incandescent bed can be changed, subject to fuel
- Stainless steel cyclonic combustion chamber: Perfect dust separation, corrosion prevention
- Advanced microprocessor control:
Automatic ignition and output reduction down to 7 kW, Lambda probe, weather-compensated control for up to 6 mixer circuits, optional remote control via mobile phone - Highest convenience: Automatic grate and heat exchanger cleaning (mobile ash box to be emptied only approx. every 2-3 months)
- Lasting quality: Extremely robust agitator and screw conveyor design, gearboxes and motors of the highest quality, silicon-carbide combustion chamber, stainless steel linings
- Low power consumption: Pioneering discharge technology
- Flexible: Combustion of grain as fuel and pellets with a seasonal efficiency [to DIN] of > 94%.
Flex Vacuum Ash Discharge
The vacuum system picks up the fuel at the end of the discharge screw conveyor and transports the pellets into the hopper. The storage room does not need to be in the immediate vicinity of the boiler room. The 'air bridge' covers distances with hoses of up to 20 m in length.
Grain As Fuel Info Page
Well developed planting, harvesting and storage technologies, as well as optimum means of handling and dosing, make grain an affordable and convenient fuel. Generally all types of grain used as animal feed are suitable.
The most suitable types of grain for combustion are those with chaff and low protein and nitrogen content, such as triticale.
Grain ash softens at approx. 700 °C (to form slag) (wood ash 1200 °C). Consequently it is recommended that, up to 50 kW boiler output, approx. 0.3 - 0.5% by weight and above 50 kW boiler output, 0.5 - 0.8% by weight calcium hydroxide Ca(OH)2 = slaked lime is admixed to the grain prior to combustion. This raises the calcium proportion in the fuel and the point at which the ash softens increases.
