High energy performance
A Triple Solar® system is very economical with the generated electricity. The SPF, also known as SCOP, is the measure of energy efficiency on an annual basis. A well-dimensioned Triple Solar® system has an exceptionally high proven return. An SPF of 5.6 is feasible for space heating and an SPF of 3.8 for tap water. This means that, on average over a year, every kWh of electricity generates 5.6 kWh of heat. These values have been measured by TNO in the Netherlands and were recorded in an conformity statement. This makes Triple Solar one of the most economical heating systems available.
What is a PVT heat pump solar panel?
With the heat pump panel you can kill two birds with one stone. The front consists of photovoltaic cells (PV) that convert sunlight into electricity. The rear is a thermal exchanger (T). Together with the silent water/water heat pump, this provides heating and hot water. In short: a complete solution for sustainable energy.
Why heat pump solar panels?
Heat for the entire house, for both heating and tap water
- Works 24 hours a day, also at night and when cloudy
- High efficiency, resulting in low electricity costs
- Heat and electricity from the same panel
- Suitable for both new construction and existing construction
- No more gas connection required
- Suitable for any type of roof
- Low maintenance and silent
- Long service life
How it Work?
A coolant: glycol flows through the copper pipes of the exchanger at the rear of the heat pump panel. It absorbs the ambient heat and conducts it to the heat pump in the home. The heat pump supplies the home with sustainable energy. You don’t have to worry about your energy bill. The electricity generated is approximately the same as using the heat pump.
“Anyone talking about heat pump solar panels is talking about a fully integrated system: heating, electricity and hot water in one. With 8 panels you provide an average, well-insulated home for four family members with sustainable heating and hot water. And by placing another 8 regular solar panels you also cover the daily electrical consumption. This makes your home energy neutral.”- Cees Mager, director of Triple Solar.
The roof type does not play a role. These panels feel at home on sloping and flat roofs. We do recommend using low temperature heating (LTV) such as underfloor heating or special low temperature convectors, in order to achieve the best efficiency. In practice, a heat pump system benefits most from new-build homes and thoroughly renovated homes.
Yes there is. Triple Solar® heat pump panels not only extract heat from sunlight, but especially from the outside air. The panel extracts heat from the outside air up to – 7 ° C. If the temperature drops below this point, the heat pump has electric additional heating. On an annual basis this happens on average only 43 hours during the night (NEN5060). Newly built homes are so well insulated that the inside temperature barely drops during this period. Even when the heat pump is switched off
The panels become extra warm during the day when the sun is out. At that time, the heat pump makes hot tap water in a very efficient way. This gives you almost free hot water in the summer.
With Triple Solar you can expand the heat pump with an additional cooling module. This option provides night cooling at night and active cooling during the day. The module controls this independently. With active cooling, the heat pump function is reversed. In that case, it works just like a fridge. The heat is extracted from the home and released to the outside through the panels.
The Dutch government has various financing and subsidy schemes available. The minimum grant is € 2,800. Check www.energiesubsidiewijzer.nl or www.energie savingaarlening.nl.
For more information about the subsidy and the costs, see the Costs and financing page.
Subsidy offerings might vary per country. Check with your local council for more details.
