Sereco - Model PVA - Archimedean Screw Pump
From Screw Pumps
The archimedean screw pump is suitable for the lifting of water and sludge in civil or industrial wastewater treatment plants. The main characteristics of its operation are the big flow clearance which well meet the lifting requirements for water containing sludge, and the automatic flow control which automatically occurs according to the height of the water present in the loading well, the whole added to a good hydraulic efficiency.

Products Details
The screw consists of a very thick central shaft on which the turns are wound; in the standard type of execution the screw is triple-flight. The whole is supported by two special bearings at the top and bottom ends which release the radial and axial forces. In the working condition, the deflection is minimized by the considerable flexural stiffness of the screw. A joint provided at the top end allows the connection with a control gear motor comprising an electric motor and a gearbox driven by pulleys and V belts. The lower support is almost always of oscillating type and is provided with adequate seals to prevent the water and sand entering; a pump allows the forced-feed lubrication of the lower support. Moreover a splash protection tile maximizes the hydraulic efficiency of the pump. The standard sloping of the screw is 38° but, on request, a different sloping can be obtained.
The standard construction is in carbon steel protected by hot dip galvanization. On request it is possible to produce metal parts in stainless steel.
