Biogas Solutions

Industrially generated biogas is a source of energy created from several types of organic materials by anaerobic fermentation. This process, also known as anaerobic digestion, is undertaken through microbial consortia under specific conditions. The resulting gas is composed of methane (CH4), carbon dioxide (CO2), and traces of other gases amongst them hydrogen sulphide (H2S).

During the anaerobic fermentation process, a nutrient-rich digestate (N, P, K, Ca, etc.) is also generated, along with organic material with a lower odour index and whose basic use is agricultural - as an organic mineral fertiliser for agricultural crops.

Biogas is used as renewable fuel, an alternative to the current dependency on fossil fuels such as oil, natural gas and carbon.

In recent years Bioconservacion has developed a wealth of experience in the desulphurisation of biogas and offers one of the largest arrays ofr absorbent materials in the marketplace.

The broad case-by-case knowledge of different biogas facilities (landfills, digesters, etc.) led Bioconservacion to design a series of specific materials suitable for each of these scenarios. Based on the specifications for each facility, our team of engineers will determine the most efficient system based on the period of residence, on contaminant concentration such as hydrogen sulphide (H2S) volatile organic compounds (VOCs), or siloxanes, amongst others.

Our range of products reduces the concentration of the corrosive elements, providing a cleaner and less corrosive gas for its subsequent combustion in co-generation motors:
