Established in the late 1990’s, the firm has one of the oldest and most active climate change and greenhouse gas emissions trading practices in the U.S., with a substantial record of significant legislative, policy, regulatory, and emissions trading transactional work on behalf of energy, industrial, NGO, and coalition/trade association clients. In addition to a Tier One ranking by Chambers USA, our climate practice has been recognized three times as a leader in an annual market survey by Environmental Finance.
Our clean tech practice represents the visionaries behind innovative clean energy, biofuel, building material, and environmental technologies, including advanced clean coal combustion technologies. We help these companies and their investors secure federal financial and policy support – over $3 billion since 2009. We also assist them in formulating their business plans and in developing meaningful partnerships with utilities, municipalities, and other partners for research, development, and deployment.
In the renewable energy area, we advise utilities, independent power producers, project developers, and investors on wind, solar, biomass, and geothermal project development, transactions, and regulatory matters such as reliability compliance and grid integration and interconnection.
