KBE - Item Designations Services
A new abbreviated designation for automotive wires was defined in the December 2013 version ofDIN 76722.
Services Details
The following changes result for the designation of the appropriate wires:
- The designation of wires with a symmetrical setup will include the letter A behind the cross-section.
- The designation of wires with an asymmetrical setup will include the letter B behind the cross-section.
- Tin-plated wires are indicated with Sn.
- The old designations Q blk and Q galv are dropped.
- The temperature range of the wire is additionally indicated with T85, T105, T110, T125 or T200.
- The designation W is dropped for some wires.
The examples below show the effects of the changes. The setup in brackets only serves to indicate whether it is type A or type B.
