Gas Natural Fenosa has more than 40 years experience in managing and operating nuclear power plants. It currently has a stake in the plants in Trillo and Almaraz. Nuclear power is reliable and forms a useful part of the strategy to combat climate change set out by the EU as it does not emit greenhouse gases. Nuclear power is key to the generation mix in Spai...
Nuclear power is key to the generation mix in Spain as it provides the system with great stability, producing large numbers of hours of energy per year. In fact, although installed nuclear power in Spain only accounts for 8% of the energy supply, this technology provides the grid with about 20% of the energy consumed. Furthermore, this technology helps to ensure security of supply in Spain, which is very important given the lack of natural resources in the country. Nuclear power is reliable and forms a useful part of the strategy to combat climate change set out by the EU as it does not emit greenhouse gases. For this reason, nuclear power plants are essential to achieve the target set by the European Union to ensure that, by the year 2020, 20% of energy consumed comes from sources that do not emit
