Balanced Air Ventilation System Design
Traditionally, balanced air ventilation meant that the system flows were achieved at each pick up point (hood) and in each duct branch by using the flow and velocity to result in equalizing pressure losses without the use of blast gates or dampers. While that is still the preferred method, we can provide adjustable system designs with dampers when that is the right solution. Our balanced system design starts with a laser beam-like focus on hood design. For any ventilation system to operate successfully and efficiently, each and every hood must be designed properly. This means that to the greatest extent possible, the hood must be as close and enclose the source. Often this must be balanced with the process and maintenance requirements of the system. Our experience and knowledge allows us to design a hood that provides excellent ventilation at the minimum flow rate. This insures the environment is ventilated adequately while minimizing the system capital and operating costs.
Fluid Bed System Design
Our knowledge and experience coupled with our entrainment and equilibrium modeling enable us to help you with initial design through equipment supply and start up. Whether your fluid bed process is a new process requiring development modeling and testing or a well established operating system that needs optimization or troubleshooting, we can help. Our experience and technical resources cover fluid bed processes including reactors, driers, coolers and combustors. Fluid bed systems are complicated systems that utilize several technologies and processes whose performance is all interrelated. Our experience coupled with our iterative models allow for optimized and holistic system design.
Our fluid bed system experience base includes:
- Petroleum Refining: FCC, coking, and catalyst activation.
- Petrochemical: Acrylonitrile, Maleic Anhydride, Catoxid, and Hydro chlorination.
- Inorganic chemical: Polysilicon, catalyst, mineral ore roasting, lime, cement and dolomite calcination, cooling, and preheating.
- Combustion and energy production: Coal, coke, biomass, MSW, waste products, tires, etc.
