The use of renewable energy has been captivating the world in the last decade as seen by a steady rise in its interest in both the developed and developing countries. Usage of any of these technologies depends absolutely on the availability of the renewable energy resource to be harnessed. This course takes you through the different existing RE resources and then focuses on the commercially viable existing renewable energy technologies while appraising their suitability for different situations and different parts of the world and culminating with an introduction to how the electricity sources can be integrated into the grid.

  • Renewable energy status and market development
  • Fundamentals of energy and solar radiation
  • Photovoltaics (Off-grid, grid-tied)
  • Bioenergy- solid biomass, biogas, biofuels
  • Small hydropower
  • Wind energy technology and project development
  • Concentrating solar power and solar thermal technology
  • Grid integration of renewable energy sources

  • Assessment of knowledge acquisition
  • Qualified trainer with wide experience in the industry
  • Up-to-date theoretical lectures, case study, discussion, partner work
  • State-of-the-art practical training (calculations, hands-on exercises)
  • Use of our self-build practical training rigs, representing each technology
  • Field trips with inspections of power plants, buildings etc.
  • Certificate of attendance
  • 10% discount for early bird registration

This training suits those who:
