A time to reflect … and to look ahead
Past achievements and future targets for the world’s leading incinerator specialists
It’s almost Christmas and another (extremely hectic) year is now drawing to a close. So although it is a time when we can look back with enormous pride on twelve months that were crammed with impressive achievements and at a few of the momentous moments in our calendar, it also time to look ahead with expectation and enthusiasm for what we truly believe will be a tremendous 2018 for the world’s number one incinerator specialists.
Very early in the year, we exhibited at Arab Health in Dubai, where we enjoyed a very positive response to our products as well as to our skills and reputation as the market leading incinerator specialists.
Prior to that, however, we were delighted to report that the very first incinerator from our new budget level allburn® range had been dispatched to a hospital in Guinea.
Our global successes were not restricted to waste incineration though because by April we had shipped and installed a huge eight-chambered bespoke pet cremator unit to Adelaide for The Animal Welfare League of South Australia, which is the country’s leading pet cremation organisation.
By the middle of the year, among dozens of successful waste incineration, pet cremation and human cremation projects, the States of Jersey had decided that Matthews Environmental Solutions were the waste incineration specialists they needed to design, build and install what was a colossal state of the art incineration and treatment plan. This plant was designed to support the whole of Jersey’s medical waste disposal requirements. It was a massive project, but we are pleased to report that everything was completed on time and on budget before it was installed by us on the island.
Success, it seems, was a continuing theme throughout the year and as recently as November we were delighted when our local authority honoured us with their ‘Export Award’ to mark our success as global incinerator specialists in the Pride of Tameside Business Awards 2017.
Hot on the heels of this success at the beginning of this month our incinerator specialists success was again recognised when we are nominated as Finalists for ‘Business of the Year’ in the Greater Manchester Business Awards 2018. The results are due to be announced early in the New Year.
Not everything we have reported this year has been good news, because at the end of May we were all devastated to learn of the Manchester Arena bombing in which a terror attack left 23 people dead. At this time of the year, especially as Christmas approaches and as a Manchester-based company, we should all take a moment or two to reflect on this awful tragedy and to remember those who died and their families.
Despite our success as the world’s leading incinerator specialists, we have to consider that as a relatively small company a very large part of our achievements has been as a result of the efforts, skills and sheer hard work of our dedicated workforce. Worldwide success on this scale means that we are now looking to strengthen our staff even further by recruiting the best local talent to extend and diversify what is already an outstanding and award winning team.
