The water for this project comes from Cold Spring. After passing through the power house, the water will be returned to the culinary water line so it will be available for use in the City's culinary water system. This micro hydroelectric power plant supplies electricity for the city. It can produce enough power on average to power 35 homes year round. The City's goal is to provide more of their own power so they don't have to raise rates in buying more power from outside sources.
