Overview
Maryland has committed to ambitious climate goals to position the state as a leader in the energy transition across the Mid-Atlantic. Under the Maryland Clean Energy Jobs Act of 2019, the state aims to source 50% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030, with a longer-term goal of achieving a 100% clean electricity grid by 2040. Additionally, Maryland has established a comprehensive suite of incentives, including grants, tax credits, and the Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) carve-outs for solar energy, to accelerate the deployment of renewable projects across the state.
