Project - Seymen Landfill Gas Regenerative Siloxane Removal System

Silivri Seymen Biomass Energy Production Facility is located in the Seymen Solid Waste Landfill and Disposal Facility in the Silivri district of Istanbul, where domestic wastes belonging to the European Side are stored. The capacity of the facility increased to 25 MW in October 2021 and to 37 MW as of December 2021. With this installed capacity equal to to the annual electricity need of approximately 190 thousand households (760,000 people), the plant prevents the emission of methane gas, which corresponds, to the carbon reduction of 37 thousand trees, provides an equivalent environmental benefit equivalent to 1.45 million tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) reduction, and the elimination of carbon emissions from 940 thousand vehicles on the basis of the greenhouse effect.
