The Surama Runway Project in Guyana Gravel Runway Upgrade

The Surama Airstrip is located on the edge of the Amazon Rain Forest in the heart of Guyana
The Government of Guyana is implementing a plan to expand its tourism industry. Due to the remoteness of these locations, they knew the importance of developing the infrastructure in these areas, and started with Airstrips, the first being Surama. JR Ranch was the appointed contractor who together with Soil Solutions constructed the 1.2 km x 30 m wide airstrip using ENGINEERED BASE STABILIZER.
Reduced Environmental Impact was a huge consideration and was met by using EBS Soil Stabilizer which is completely environmentally safe for the ground, flora and fauna and wildlife which are all important considerations in this highly sensitive part of the Amazon. Soil Solutions together with JR Ranch delivered a well constructed and safe runway which will enhance the area as well as provide access for the growing tourism industry.
