Suzlon Energy (Pune, India) and Vestas Wind Systems A/S (Randers, Denmark) have announced new orders for wind turbines and associated equipment, in Vestas’ case the first European orders for its new V112 3-MW model. Vestas received an order from Germany’s Prokon to supply 17 of the V112 3-MW units for installation at the Krackow project in Germany’s Mecklenburg-Vorpommern state. The contract calls for Vestas to supply installation, spare parts, and a range of monitoring and control functions in addition to the turbines. Suzlon received an order, valued at about $251 million U.S., from Techno Electric Group to supply 24 units of its S88 2.1MW wind turbine generators (WTGs), 34 units of its S82 1.5MW WTGs, and 48 units of its new S95 2.1MW WTGs for installation at various Techno Electric projects in India.
